On July 8, “the 20th Nagasaki Saikai Triathlon” was held in Oshima-cho, Saikai city. The triathlon held this year marked the 20th event with the first triathlon was held in July, 1993.

The triathlon consisted of the items as follows: the Olympic distance of swimming 1.5km, cycling 40km and running 10km and the half distance of the Olympic distance and the kid category from elementary school 3rd grader to junior high school 3rd grader. And swimming 200m, cycling 4.7km and running 1.7km was added as a new item for the first time. Total of 451 people participated in the event.
