On October 5, “Daizo’s Barbecue Festival” took place in the Oshima shipyard compound. Unfortunately, with the approach of a typhoon, it started sprinkling a little bit on that day. In spite of a situation unfavorable to the event, the festival had a fairly good-sized turnout of about 4,500 people including employees of Oshima Shipyard, affiliated companies, subcontractors, their families and people from local communities including Saikai City. At the opening of the festival, all invited guests and participants performed “radio gymnastics” trying to become the best performers of “radio gymnastics in Japan” as directed by Mr. Yonekura, manager of SB Fitness Club.
