The stage and TV celebrity, Hayashiya Shōzō performed comical story telling, sometimes referred to as sit-down comedy as one of the year-end events for Oshima shipyard employees on December 11, 2010 in the Oshima Island Hotel Nagasaki. The audience of about 420 employees went into gales of laughter over classic and current funny tales in addition to a spinning top performance by Mimasu Monnosuke.

Oshima shipyard holds this kind of event once a year so that employees might be able to fully unwind from routines and welcome a Happy New Year. (Mr. Hiraga, executive vice president performed a funny story as a curtain raiser and boosted the event mood.)
