The Olive Bay Hotel, one of Oshima shipyard affiliates opened on April 12, 2013.
Kengo Kuma, a world renowned architect, designed the Olive Bay Hotel and world famous interior design company, GA and washi artist, Eriko Horiki produced work for interior decorations. In addition, art works such as “Kyu” and “Zuiko” by Minami Tada and “Rejoice” by Yachiyo Iwamoto and Katsumi Watanabe and “Ranman” by Natusko Kishida are used as decorations inside and outside of the hotel.
The hotel has six floors and total 32 rooms consisting of two sweets, 19 luxuries, one universal, nine superiors and one Japanese style room.
Prior to the grand opening of the hotel in April 12, a media preview and press conference and a private preview took place in the daytime and at night of April 11, respectively. Local distinguished guests including Nakamura Prefectural Governor, Tanaka Saikai city mayor and Tomonaga Sasebo city mayor came over to the hotel to attend the private preview.
