It is five and a half years since the installation of the first 1,200 ton goliath gantry crane in June, 2008. The installation of No. 2 1,200 ton goliath gantry crane completed.

Oshima shipyard held a completion ceremony to celebrate the installation of the new crane with the attendance of many people including Director-General, Maritime Bureau Maritime Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), officials of Nagasaki Prefecture, Saikai City and officers in pivotal position in shareholding companies.

Four goliath gantry cranes over one dry dock are extremely rare in the shipbuilding industry. The crane is expected to make a great contribution to build good ships with increased efficiency.
